June 6th, 2008 · No Comments

On the 3rd of December 2007, BCF Designs, a specialist aerospace test equipment company, became part of Ultra Electronics. Ultra Electronics is a group of specialised, advanced technology businesses that design, manufacture and support electronic and elect mechanical systems, sub-systems and products for defence, security, aerospace and transport applications worldwide.

The now Ultra Electronics BCF, originally founded 15 years ago, was acknowledged as a global leader in aerospace fuel and databus test equipment. Its innovative product ranges’ most recent addition; the world’s only microprocessor driven fuel quantity test set, is in the process of being rolled out for use amongst a number of the world’s leading defence agencies.

Ultra Electronics BCF has three facilities in Cirencester; the head office in Phoenix Way and two production facilities at Love Lane Industrial estate. There is also an office in Suffolk, Virginia, USA, which provides a sales and product support service to numerous US customers.

The resources of Ultra Electronics will help provide even greater opportunities for BCF Designs and its people in the future.

Ultra Electronics BCF’s new general manager, Andrew Neal, a former Air Commodore in the RAF, has worked with Ultra Electronics since leaving the service and brings with him a great knowledge and passion for the aerospace and defence Industry.

Neal said, “BCF’s products complement Ultra’s existing fixed and rotary-wing military aircraft systems and wiring harness capabilities. The acquisition of BCF augments Ultra’s range of specialist solutions in the fields of safety, testing and validation for military and civil aircraft worldwide. I firmly believe that Ultra Electronics BCF has an exciting future and I look forward to working with the dedicated team at Cirencester to realise our potential.”
